The medium I work in  is “mixed media” which consist of paper from magazines, shredded paper, paper towels, mesh produce bags, as well as acrylic paints including the acrylic skins from leftover projects.  The choice of material is based on discovery and experimentation.  I will start with a small version and work larger to see if the technique is repeatable and sustainable. The miniatures are small works that stand on their own.   The subject or theme of the pieces are predominantly female. The papers are cut or ripped to suggest movement.  Other pieces are floral or abstract, exploring movement, color, experimenting with the materials.

Recently I have taken the collage technique to create one of a kind tote bags from upholstery fabric, denim and fabric remnants.  Each bag has an appliquéd design from scraps of fabric that suggest female figures. Future projects will include quilts, wall hangings and wearable art. This technique has also been used to bring new life to old and scratched glass table ware, table top surfaces, as well as decorative cardboard boxes.
